The first choice for many people when traveling to Cannes is to fly to Nice airport, one of France’s busiest. But according to a report in Cannes-or-Bust, some people are now choosing the smaller airport at Toulon. Lying at about an hour’s drive to the west, the French port also has international air connections with six cities, including London, Berlin and Paris. For last-minute flights, it’s worth checking Toulon if the Nice flights are booked out. Cannes can then be reached by taking the train from Toulon, a city-to-city connection that brings travellers to within 10 minutes of the Palais and Croisette. This is just one of the ways of reaching Cannes for vacation or the many fairs such as MIPIM and Midem.
