Mud flaps on cars and trucks do pretty much the same thing, though you don’t have to worry about your clothes as much as you do your vehicle. They keep your vehicle clean, and if you have to push your car or truck out of the ditch, they will protect your clothing, if only a little bit.

A vehicle that is higher off the ground can always use a good set of mud flaps. This not only keeps dirt and mud from the bottom of the vehicle, it can also stop any rocks or small stones that might be kicked up by the tires. The stone will hit the flap and fall rather than flying out to hit the car or truck that might be behind you on the road.
