The situation is even worse in parts of Africa, where there are no major government institutions to spread HIV Information, and where peoples perspectives about sex in general are as backwards, or even worse, then the fundamentalist communities in the United States.The information on acquired immune deficiency syndrome is often plain wrong and even destructive. Even if there were HIV information available to these communities, and even if people did feel free to talk about it, what could they do? Many of these villages lack the basics of sanitation, to say nothing of birth control to help prevent the spread of stds.
