The story behind “The Saints are Coming” by U2/Green Day

Many people watching U2 and Green Day “The Saints are Coming” at the new Orleans Superbowl might have thought that the track was a U2 or Green Day classic. According to A-Lyric.com, this is not the case. The track was originally written by a Scottish punk band many years ago. Songwriter Richard Jobson actually wrote the song in memory of a friend of his that died as a soldier in Northern Ireland. To find out more and read the lyrics, visit A-Lyric.com.
